Yatsuhashi is the most famous Kyoto sweets.
The crackers made of rice powder, sugar and cinnamon.
There are two types of Yatsuhashi; soft (steamed) and hard (backed) crackers.
The original store that invented Yatsuhashi is Honke Nshio Yatsuhashi. (Honke means "original.") Though, the exact date wasn't given. From the wooden plaque that dedicated to Kumano shrine, Nishio had already sold Yatsuhashi in 1824.
The teashop was opened in 1689. Teashop was like cafe in today's sense that offers green tea and sweets.
